Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain combo-control strategy commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It leverages incidental lifegain triggers to turn life totals into an expansive card-draw engine. The deck controls the board during the early turns with an extensive suite of low-mana, versatile spot removal like Swords to Plowshares, Deadly Rollick, and Anguished Unmaking. Simultaneously, it deploys taxing threats such as Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Authority of the Consuls, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to suppress opposing momentum. The deck closes out games through instant-kill drain loops, pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. With high redundancy in the 99 and strong card flow, the deck executes its win conditions reliably even without relying heavily on its commander.
