Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive Mardu tempo and reanimator strategy centered on Kaalia of the Vast. The primary game plan focuses on casting Kaalia on turn 3 or 4, equipping haste or granting protection, and immediately attacking to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Signature lines include dropping Master of Cruelties to eliminate an opponent in a single combat step, or deploying damage multipliers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and extra combats via Aurelia, the Warleader to dismantle the table within two turns. When Kaalia faces targeted removal, the deck leverages a dense secondary suite of reanimation spells like Animate Dead and Unburial Rites alongside Quicksilver Amulet to maintain board presence. While vulnerable to early spot removal and counterspells, the deck presents overwhelming aerial pressure once its engine connects.
