Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-black stax and pox list built around Tergrid, God of Fright. The deck accelerates aggressively using format-staple fast mana artifacts and dark rituals to cast Tergrid by Turn 2 or 3. Once Tergrid is in play, the deck resolves symmetric discard and sacrifice effects such as Dark Deal, Pox, Death Cloud, and Mindslicer. Tergrid's triggered ability steals all discarded or sacrificed permanent cards directly onto your battlefield, stripping opponents of hands and boards while generating an overwhelming army and mana advantage. Opponents are locked out by pervasive attrition pieces like Chains of Mephistopheles and Oppression. The deck closes out the game through combat damage with stolen creatures, Tergrid's Lantern activations, or a game-ending Torment of Hailfire.
