Shagrat V2 by sandyghost5

Format: Commander

Commander: Shagrat, Loot Bearer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Equipment Voltron build led by Shagrat, Loot Bearer. The plan is to cast Shagrat, attack to attach an Equipment for free, and grow a single Orc Army with amass. Each Equipment attached to Shagrat increases the amass number, so the Army quickly becomes large while Shagrat himself becomes a threat. The deck runs 27 Equipment, including scaling payoffs like Cranial Plating, Cranial Ram, Blackblade Reforged, and Colossus Hammer, plus double-strike sources like Fireshrieker and Leyline Axe. There are no infinite combos. Wins come from combat damage - commander damage from a suited-up Shagrat, damage from the growing Army, or damage from other equipped creatures such as Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant and Imskir Iron-Eater. Shagrat is central to the strategy. He provides the only free attach and the only amass engine, and he can be recast for {2}{B}{R} with commander tax if removed.
