Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a Jund -1/-1 counter value engine helmed by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. The core strategy revolves around putting -1/-1 counters on both the pilot's own creatures (for card draw via the commander) and on opponents' creatures (for board control). The deck packs a high density of counter-placing permanents and spells (Blowfly Infestation, Skinrender, Soul Snuffers, Black Sun's Zenith) that trigger the commander's draw ability and synergize with enablers like Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Flourishing Defenses to generate a growing army of token creatures. It aims to grind out card advantage, control the board with -1/-1 counter-based sweepers, and eventually close the game through combat beats from resilient threats (Grave Titan, The Scorpion God, Necroskitter) or an infinite combo that loops counter placement and death triggers. The deck lacks fast mana and cheap tutors, so its engine is incremental rather than explosive.
