Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius artifact-centric strategy led by Mendicant Core, Guidelight. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap artifacts, generating artifact creature tokens (Thopters, Clues, Servos), and advancing the Speed mechanic through regular combat damage. Upon reaching Max Speed (Speed 4), Mendicant Core copies every cast artifact spell for a single generic mana, triggering explosive board growth. The deck converts broad artifact accumulation into decisive combat pressure using affinity beaters like Broodstar and Cephalopod Sentry, alongside wide evasive token swarms buffed by Steel Overseer or multiplied by March of Progress. Backup win conditions include Mechanized Production on token piles. The deck maintains consistent card flow through Vedalken Archmage and Thopter Spy Network, though its interactive suite is somewhat narrow and relies heavily on resolving combat damage to power its engine.
