Deck overview

Marchesa, Dealer of Death is a Grixis crime-control deck. Its primary plan is to deploy Marchesa, use cheap interaction and counterspells to commit crimes, and convert each trigger into card quality via one-card loot. While it accumulates value, it sets up a copy loop-Dualcaster Mage plus either Twinflame or Molten Duplication-to create infinite hasty attackers, with Hullbreaker Horror and Sol Ring as an alternate engine. Reanimation effects and Kess, Dissident Mage turn binned spells and fat creatures into recurring threats. The commander is not strictly required for the combo, but she is the deck's main draw engine and threat enabler. The deck plays a reactive game, using its high interaction count to reach the combo turn.
