Deck overview

Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar is a Selesnya +1/+1 counters deck that combines a durable, evasive creature base with protection and card draw built around combat. The deck's primary path is to accrue counters on all attacking creatures, use Kutzil's attack trigger to draw cards while preventing opponents from casting spells during your turn, and then finish with a massive Overwhelming Stampede or a huge X-spell pump. A secondary, non-commander line uses Devoted Druid plus Luxior, Giada's Gift for infinite green mana, which can dump counters into the entire team. The deck is a midrange threat that outvalues opponents through repetition and mass protection, with the combo as a conditional accelerator. It does not rely on Kutzil to function, but he dramatically improves both draw and board resilience.
