Deck overview

This deck is a high-tier competitive EDH Dimir control-combo deck commanded by Talion, the Kindly Lord. It operates on a dual-axis strategy: establishing an early asymmetric card-draw and life-drain engine in the command zone while threatening a compact, format-defining win through Thassa's Oracle combined with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. The deck accelerates rapidly with 0-1 CMC fast mana rocks and dark rituals, allowing Turn 2 Talion deployments or early combo attempts. A dense suite of free and efficient counterspells protects its own win lines while disrupting opposing turbo wins. Meanwhile, high-impact stax and attrition pieces such as Opposition Agent, Cursed Totem, Grafdigger's Cage, and Orcish Bowmasters stall opponents and break parity. Even if its commander is completely neutralized, the deck easily pivots to raw tutor-driven combo execution without losing velocity.
