Deck overview

Lathril, Blade of the Elves is the heart of a Golgari Elf-ball deck that pairs wide token generation with two distinct kill routes: a big commander-combat turn into the activated life-drain, or a Shaman of the Pack/Poison-Tip Archer drain when direct combat is blocked. The commander creates one token per point of combat damage, and the deck's lord effects plus untappers such as Copperhorn Scout, Vitalize, and Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler can convert a single connect into an enormous board. Secondary plans include a generic go-wide alpha strike with End-Raze Forerunners or Ezuri's overrun effect, and incremental drain/value through Elderfang Venom and Moldervine Reclamation. The deck is built to cast Lathril early and then rapidly snowball, with enough redundancy in token makers and lords that the backup beatdown plan remains credible.
