Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Bird typal tempo deck centered on Kastral, the Windcrested. The primary game plan curves out early with evasive, low-cost flyers such as Healer's Hawk, Battlefield Raptor, and Watcher of the Spheres. On Turn 5, deploying Kastral enables immediate value and scaling through combat-damage triggers that place +1/+1 counters across the flock, draw cards, or recur fallen Birds. By Turn 6, static anthems like Empyrean Eagle, Favorable Winds, and Gravitational Shift augment the swarm into an evasive aerial clock that eliminates opponents over sequential combats by Turn 9. Card flow is sustained via coastal piracy effects including Bident of Thassa and Reconnaissance Mission. While the deck features flexible interaction and defensive tools like Perch Protection, its heavy reliance on creature-based combat makes it vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and flying blockers.
