Format: Commander

Commander: Vivi Ornitier

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a high-density Izzet spell-slinger/burn deck that treats Vivi Ornitier as a hybrid mana engine and repeatable pinger. Vivi's {0} ability generates red/blue mana equal to her power once per turn, and every noncreature spell cast puts a +1/+1 counter on her and deals 1 damage to each opponent. The deck digs with a full cantrip package - Ponder, Brainstorm, Opt, Consider, and Gitaxian Probe - to find damage multipliers like Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph, Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, Harmonic Prodigy, Veyran, Voice of Duality, Wizard's Staff, and both Niv-Mizzets. It wins either through the infinite draw-ping loop of Niv-Mizzet, Parun with Curiosity/Ophidian Eye/Tandem Lookout, or through a massive Thousand-Year Storm/Mizzix's Mastery spell chain finished by Brain Freeze or raw burn. This is a stack-focused deck: nearly all of its interaction operates at instant speed to protect a single explosive storm turn.
