Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated 5-color Polymorph strategy helmed by Jace, Multiverse Architect. The core game plan minimizes low-cost creature cards in the 99, relying instead on noncreature token generators like Skrelv's Hive, Staff of the Storyteller, and Lingering Souls to provide fodder on early turns. On Turn 4, the deck deploys Jace and immediately activates his −3 loyalty ability to exile a token, polymorphing directly into one of several game-warping heavy hitters such as Archon of Cruelty, Serra's Emissary, Archfiend of Despair, or Darksteel Colossus. Backup polymorph enablers including Proteus Staff, Synthetic Destiny, and Mass Polymorph ensure redundancy. Supported by efficient white-based removal and sweepers, the deck sustains pressure through massive combat swings and severe asymmetric attrition to close out the game over three combat cycles.
