Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs go-wide creature token generation with high-impact spellslinger payoffs enabled by Witherbloom, the Balancer. Early turns establish mana acceleration and a broad board of creature tokens using engines like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Pest Infestation, and Insidious Roots. Once the board is established, Witherbloom, the Balancer enters for as little as two mana, granting all instant and sorcery spells affinity for creatures. This discount turns high-cost sorceries like Army of the Damned, In Garruk's Wake, Preposterous Proportions, and large Exsanguinate casts into low-cost game-ending plays. Heavy card advantage engines such as Shamanic Revelation and Moldervine Reclamation keep resources overflowing, while aristocrats pieces like Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat provide drain reach. The deck plays aggressively toward overwhelming the table through mass pump or life drain.
