Deck overview

Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver commands a high-synergy Dimir Zombie Aristocrats deck designed to grind value through creature sacrifice and close games with compact infinite drain loops. The core strategy revolves around creating disposable Zombie tokens, triggering aristocrat drain pieces, and drawing through the library using death triggers. The primary win condition combines Gravecrawler with Phyrexian Altar or Warren Soultrader alongside payoffs like Bastion of Remembrance, Diregraf Captain, or The Meathook Massacre, draining the entire table in a single turn. Backup lines leverage Mikaeus, the Unhallowed with Putrid Goblin or mass reanimation through Living Death and Zombie Apocalypse. While the deck features strong mana velocity, high card draw, and devastating creature attrition via Grave Pact, it remains vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile, artifact removal, and heavy stax effects. With efficient countermagic and redundant combo pieces, it reliably presents lethal board states by Turn 5.
