Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is built around Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin, using a dense suite of 1-damage pingers to generate massive card advantage and rapid commander growth. Cards like Razorkin Needlehead, Orcish Bowmasters, Firebrand Archer, and Roiling Vortex ensure that opponent draw steps and your noncreature spells trigger Ob Nixilis repeatedly. Once assembled around turn 4, the deck shifts into an explosive storm engine fueled by cheap rituals like Cabal Ritual and Desperate Ritual, mana engines like Birgi, God of Storytelling, and recursion from Underworld Breach. Opponents take continuous burn damage while Ob Nixilis expands into a lethal flying, trample threat. Efficient protection spells like Deflecting Swat and free removal like Deadly Rollick defend the board, allowing the deck to close games around turn 5 through combined table-wide burn and decisive combat strikes.
