Deck overview

This deck is a aggressive Gruul midrange deck helmed by Halana and Alena, Partners. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana on early turns, deploying efficient synergistic creatures, and casting the commander on Turn 4. At the beginning of combat, Halana and Alena distribute +1/+1 counters equal to their power to another creature and give it haste, enabling explosive, immediate attacks. The deck compounds this advantage using powerful counter multipliers like Branching Evolution, Innkeeper's Talent, The Earth Crystal, and Railway Brawler. Trample enablers such as Kodama of the West Tree, Pridemalkin, and Pathbreaker Ibex ensure that massive combat power converts directly into player eliminations. Card draw scales with creature size through spells like Rishkar's Expertise and Terrasymbiosis, while protection spells like Heroic Intervention and The Ozolith preserve board state and momentum against interaction.
