Deck overview

This mono-black deck pairs Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar with Cultist of the Absolute to turn its commander into an evasive 6/7 flying attacker and massive card draw engine. Early turns establish cheap recurring creatures like Reassembling Skeleton and sacrifice payoffs like Bastion of Remembrance. Once Shadowheart enters on Turn 4, she applies rapid commander pressure while converting expendable creatures into full hands of fresh resources. The deck leverages this card flow to reanimate heavy finishers such as Archon of Cruelty and Sheoldred, Whispering One, while aristocrat pieces steadily drain the table. Although the deck lacks library tutors, fast mana rocks, and artifact removal, its sheer draw density and resilient recursion enable it to outvalue opposing interaction over extended turns.
