Nicol Bolas 2.0 by user4212418

Format: Commander

Commander: Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Grixis superfriends deck built around the back face of its commander. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager is a discard/flier that flips into Nicol Bolas, the Arisen; the deck's real plan is to ride proliferate to Arisen's -12 ultimate. Ichormoon Gauntlet, Inexorable Tide, Tekuthal, and Deepglow Skate multiply loyalty until the ultimate can fire, while The Chain Veil and Teferi, Temporal Archmage create extra activation windows. Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God is a hidden engine, copying every planeswalker loyalty ability. Secondary paths include token pressure from Bitterblossom, The Locust God, Shark Typhoon, and Torment of Hailfire as a mana sink. It is a slow, high-value deck that can be dismantled by planeswalker sweepers.
