Valgavoth for Zach by BillyKid

Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos aristocrats deck helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, built around turning death triggers into card advantage, mana, and life loss. The primary win condition is an infinite sacrifice loop involving Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar, Pitiless Plunderer and/or token-producing death engines, plus a recursive creature like Reassembling Skeleton, finished by a Blood Artist-class drainer. Valgavoth acts as a card-draw engine: his ward forces opponents to pay life, and every opponent's first life loss each turn puts a counter on him and draws a card. The deck also packs non-infinite reach with Descent into Avernus, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Exsanguinate, and Syr Konrad, the Grim, while Yawgmoth, Thran Physician functions as a hidden commander for repeatable sacrifice, card draw, and removal.
