Commander: Lathril, Blade of the Elves

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Lathril, Blade of the Elves is both the engine and finisher of this Golgari elfball deck. The primary plan is to ramp with one-drop druids, cast Lathril early, and turn her combat damage into a critical mass of Elf tokens. Once ten or more Elves are untapped, Lathril's activated ability drains each opponent for 10; untap effects such as Copperhorn Scout, Vitalize, or Seedborn Muse allow multiple drain activations. The secondary path is a classic go-wide finish with Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Imperious Perfect, and lords giving trample. Shaman of the Pack and Skemfar Shadowsage provide burst life loss. There is no hidden commander; Lathril herself is the deck's centerpiece.
