Deck overview

This Bant stax/control deck is helmed by Feroz, Ulgrotha's Warden, a planeswalker commander who generates bird tokens, draws cards, and cheats permanents with mana value 4 or less from hand onto the battlefield. The primary game plan is to deploy a dense suite of stax pieces-Stasis, Winter Orb, Sphere of Resistance, Meekstone, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, and others-to lock opponents out of the game while using proliferate effects (Evolution Sage, Contagion Clasp, Karn's Bastion) to accelerate Feroz's loyalty toward his ultimate, which creates a Feroz's Ban token that further taxes creature spells. Win conditions include combat damage from Adeline, Resplendent Cathar and token swarms, Oko, Thief of Crowns stealing key threats, or simply grinding out value until opponents cannot keep up.
