Deck overview

This Izzet deck, commanded by Alania, Divergent Storm, is a spell-slinger token/value strategy that leverages the commander's copy trigger to duplicate the first instant, first sorcery, and first Otter spell each turn. The core plan is to cast a critical mass of instants and sorceries to produce creature tokens (Talrand, Sky Summoner, Murdery Mystic, Young Pyromancer, Third Path Iconoclast) while burning opponents with Guttersnipe and Coruscation Mage. Multiple redundancy copy effects like Galvanic Iteration and Invasion of Arca amplify these triggers. Secondary path involves large token combos from Thousand-Year Storm and Turnabout for infinite mana, but lacking a pinpoint finisher. With no real tutors, the deck relies on top-decking their key pieces. Win conditions are grindy, incremental damage from pings and token beats.
