Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on generating a wide swarm of Squirrel and creature tokens to fuel explosive mana acceleration, aristocrat life drain, and overwhelming combat attacks. Led by Hazel of the Rootbloom, the deck turns modest token generators into significant mana engines while duplicating Squirrel tokens at each end step. Key engines such as Chatterfang, Squirrel General multiply tokens and provide repeatable removal, while Skullclamp, Idol of Oblivion, and Moldervine Reclamation sustain card velocity. The deck transitions into a lethal threat on Turn 6 by pumping tokens with Beastmaster Ascension or End-Raze Forerunners, or by draining opponents through Bastion of Remembrance, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Mirkwood Bats. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers due to limited defensive spells, its redundant token producers and independent backup lines allow steady recovery and consistent midgame execution.
