Deck overview

Svyelun of Sea and Sky leads an aggressive mono-blue Merfolk kindred tempo deck that balances fast creature combat with deep countermagic control. The strategy curves out with low-cost Merfolk on early turns before deploying Svyelun on turn 3. With two other Merfolk in play, Svyelun becomes indestructible, grants the team ward {1}, and draws a card on every attack. The deck turns the entire team unblockable by transforming opposing lands into Islands with Harbinger of the Seas, Spreading Seas, and Aquitect's Will, then stacking anthem lords like Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident. A robust interaction suite featuring Force of Negation, Flare of Denial, and Vodalian Hexcatcher shields the board from sweepers while disrupting opposing combos.
