Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon as an aggressive Voltron commander that cuts the required damage clock from 40 life to 10 poison counters per opponent. The deck accelerates through early mana rocks, dark rituals, and land-multiplying engines like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast to deploy Skithiryx ahead of schedule on Turn 4 with built-in haste. A dense suite of equipment, including Lashwrithe, Commander's Plate, and Grafted Wargear, quickly elevates Skithiryx into one-shot or two-shot lethal territory. Because poison damage does not heal, auxiliary proliferate effects from Karn's Bastion and Sword of Truth and Justice allow the deck to close games even when combat lanes are contested. A robust suite of protection spells and low-cost infect backups ensure the deck maintains continuous lethal pressure against the entire table.
