Deck overview

Ardbert, Warrior of Darkness leads an aggressive Orzhov midrange strategy centered on legendary creatures and +1/+1 counters. The deck maximizes Ardbert's triggered abilities by casting colored and multicolor spells to distribute counters, vigilance, and menace across a wide legendary board. A dense lineup of legendary creatures provides compounding utility, ranging from card draw via Breena, the Demagogue to keyword granting via Odric, Lunarch Marshal and Chocobo Knights. The deck excels at breaking parity on board wipes with cards like Damning Verdict and Urza's Ruinous Blast, which clear opposing permanents while leaving your buffed legendary creatures untouched. A robust suite of protection spells, including Clever Concealment, Flawless Maneuver, and Boromir, Warden of the Tower, safeguards the board against removal, while Primevals' Glorious Rebirth ensures rapid rebuilding against sweepers.
