Deck overview

This Dimir deck is an edict-control and tribal aristocrats strategy helmed by Vren, the Relentless. The primary game plan revolves around casting Vren on turn 3 or 4, then resolving asymmetric sacrifice and removal spells like Accursed Marauder, Plaguecrafter, and Sheoldred's Edict. Because Vren exiles all dying opposing creatures, each edict strips opposing boards, disables graveyard loops, and produces a swarm of Relentless Rat tokens that scale in power with every Rat you control. Card advantage engines such as Kindred Discovery, Bident of Thassa, and Enduring Curiosity convert successful Rat combat into massive card draw, while interactive countermagic (Counterspell, Swan Song) and targeted removal (Withering Torment, Go for the Throat) protect your board from sweepers. The deck wins by overrunning the table with massive scaling Rats over multiple combat steps, grinding opponents out through relentless asymmetric attrition.
