Deck overview

This is a Jund +1/+1 counter and graveyard-reanimation deck helmed by Gyrus, Waker of Corpses. The core plan is to fill the graveyard with haymakers, cast Gyrus with a large X, and attack to reanimate a big creature as a tapped-and-attacking token each combat. A dense counter-doubling package - Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, Kalonian Hydra - makes Gyrus and his reanimated army enormous. The deck wins through combat: Craterhoof Behemoth pumps, Avenger of Zendikar landfall swarms, Purphoros, God of the Forge token burn, and the The Master, Multiplied myriad engine that lets Gyrus tokens persist past end of combat. It is a midrange value deck that trades early tempo for a powerful, counter-synergized midgame.
