Deck overview

Tannuk, Steadfast Second headlines a mono-red stompy archetype focused on cost-cheating and high-tempo combat. By granting other creatures haste and providing artifact and red creature cards with warp {2}{R}, Tannuk circumvents high mana costs to deploy formidable dragons and artifact beaters well ahead of curve. The game plan focuses on establishing early 2-3 CMC ramp, resolving Tannuk on Turn 4, and utilizing the warp mechanic on Turn 5 to launch aggressive attacks with threats like Terror of Mount Velus, Combustible Gearhulk, and Nova Hellkite. Warped permanents exile at the end step, setting up subsequent recasts from exile that trigger synergies with cards like Wild-Magic Sorcerer. While the deck features powerful combat multipliers such as Full Throttle and defensive board wipes like Chain Reaction, it lacks dedicated stack protection and universal tutors, relying on raw threat density, haste-fueled tempo, and resilient recast options to overpower three opponents by Turn 8.
