Deck overview

This is a Mono-Red land-destruction and energy deck helmed by The Motherlode, Excavator. The commander generates energy equal to an opponent's nonbasic land count on entry, then spends four energy on attack to blow up a nonbasic land and strip flying blockers. The deck's core plan is mana denial: a dense package of land destruction (Strip Mine, Avalanche Riders, Goblin Settler, Craterize, Earth Rift) combined with nonbasic hate (Magus of the Moon, Zhao, the Moon Slayer, Price of Glory) to choke opponents off colored mana, then close with a modest beatdown suite. The energy subtheme fuels the commander, Lightning Runner's extra combat chain, Aethertorch Renegade's reach, and Conversion Apparatus. Wins come from grinding out via Star of Extinction, Myojin of Infinite Rage's land wipe, or Lightning Runner-driven combat.
