Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Bant defender/toughness deck helmed by Arcades, the Strategist. The primary plan is to flood the board with cheap defenders, use Arcades's draw trigger to chain cards, and turn high-toughness walls into attackers via Arcades, High Alert, Assault Formation, or Walking Bulwark. Secondary paths include a fallback win with Approach of the Second Sun after deep drawing, and a small mana-untap combo with Umbral Mantle and a defender dork. The deck is fundamentally a creature-combat deck with a strong draw engine and moderate protection. Tetsuko Umezawa makes tiny walls unblockable, and Crashing Drawbridge provides haste for alpha strikes.
