Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger and Storm Burn strategy commanded by Vivi Ornitier. The primary plan uses cheap pump spells to rapidly increase Vivi's power, fueling its zero-mana activated ability to generate large bursts of red and blue mana on Turn 4. Vivi's triggered ability simultaneously deals 1 damage to each opponent whenever a noncreature spell is cast, converting ordinary cantrips, pump spells, and burn into table-wide pressure. By attaching damage-triggered draw engines like Curiosity or Tandem Lookout to Vivi, every spell cast draws 3 cards, creating an explosive engine that chains through the library. Redundant burn permanents like Firebrand Archer and Guttersnipe accelerate life total depletion, while backup win conditions including Niv-Mizzet, Parun and Storm-Kiln Artist provide lethal reach. A suite of 1-mana hexproof spells and countermagic protects Vivi during critical setup and closing turns.
