Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. It uses the Eminence ability from the command zone to reduce the mana costs of all Sphinxes by {1} throughout the game. Supported by 16 ramp pieces and cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign, the deck deploys high-cost, flying threats ahead of curve. Powerful draw engines such as Consecrated Sphinx, Rhystic Study, and Kindred Discovery ensure a steady flow of resources. The deck protects its board with premium free interaction including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, and Teferi's Protection, while locking down ground attacks with Magus of the Moat. Once established, a squadron of evasive Sphinxes deals lethal combat damage over turns 5 through 7, aided by Magister Sphinx and mass reanimation spells.
