Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure-control-combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Casting the commander early and hitting it with noncombat damage converts its indestructible body into a massive Treasure burst, which Goldspan Dragon or Xorn multiplies into enough mana for a lethal Torment of Hailfire. Secondary paths use Magda and Professional Face-Breaker to generate Treasures and assert board control with Dragons, while Hellkite Tyrant and Revel in Riches provide alt-wins. The deck has strong tutor density and excellent resilience from indestructible Smaug. Its main weakness is a low counterspell count and dependence on a single spell chain to close the game at speed.
