Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Rakdos combo list engineered around Smaug the Impenetrable. Smaug possesses flying, haste, and indestructible, and generates Treasure tokens whenever it takes noncombat damage. The deck accelerates into Smaug on turn 5 using efficient mana rocks and rituals, then immediately targets its own commander with high-damage spells like Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction. This produces 13 to 20 Treasure tokens in a single action. The resulting mana burst fuels massive draw spells like Peer into the Abyss and recursion via Past in Flames, converting artifact creation and sacrifice into lethal table-wide damage through Ingenious Artillerist, Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and Exsanguinate. With built-in uncounterability from Hexing Squelcher and redirection spells, the deck reliably attempts a single-turn table kill on turn 5.
