Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain and +1/+1 counter midrange strategy commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The deck curves out with low-cost lifegain enablers such as Soul Warden and Essence Warden, cast alongside ramp pieces to deploy Betor reliably on Turn 4. Once assembled, Betor converts lifegain into large +1/+1 counter distribution and turns life loss into free creature reanimation from the graveyard during each of your end steps. Starting on Turn 5, flying and lifelink attacks rapidly inflate your creatures into massive threats. Synergistic payoffs like Archangel of Thune, Celestine, the Living Saint, and The Earth Crystal amplify this snowball effect, while Triumph of the Hordes provides a compact overrun finisher. The deck defends its board with phase-out and indestructible protection like Clever Concealment and packs versatile spot removal such as Anguished Unmaking and Swords to Plowshares to interact with opponents while executing its combat-focused clock.
