Deck overview

This Simic deck commands The Astonishing Ant-Man to build an overwhelming +1/+1 counter and token engine. The strategy pairs low-cost card draw with counter multipliers like Hardened Scales and Branching Evolution to rapidly grow the commander. Once stacked with counters, Ant-Man converts them into an expansive swarm of 1/1 Insect tokens. Synergies like Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards and Enduring Curiosity replenish the hand whenever tokens enter or connect in combat, creating a continuous loop of growth and board development. The deck finishes games by granting mass evasion through Baxter, Fly in the Ointment or executing an asymmetric one-sided board wipe with Wave Goodbye. In addition, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds combined with Pemmin's Aura provides an infinite mana backup combo that can draw the library with Blue Sun's Zenith. Comprehensive protection spells like Mutational Advantage and Ripples of Potential safeguard the counter-laden board against sweepers and targeted removal.
