Deck overview

This is a classic Mardu Vampire tribal aggro-midrange deck helmed by Edgar Markov. The plan is straightforward: cast cheap Vampires to flood the board with eminence tokens, layer lords and anthems, then overwhelm the table through combat and incidental life-drain. Edgar Markov's eminence ability generates a 1/1 Vampire token whenever you cast a Vampire spell whether he is on the battlefield or in the command zone, so the go-wide engine runs from turn one. Once Edgar hits the battlefield his haste lets him attack immediately, and his attack trigger piles +1/+1 counters on the entire team. Primary wins come from wide combat amplified by Shared Animosity, Cathars' Crusade, Mirror Entity, and Mondrak, Glory Dominus, backed by aristocrat drains from Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. There are no infinite combo lines; the deck wins by turning sideways and bleeding the table dry.
