Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet competitive combo strategy commanded by Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. The core game plan focuses on assembling a one-card combo with Malcolm: Glint-Horn Buccaneer. Because Malcolm resides in the command zone, tutoring Glint-Horn with Imperial Recruiter, Drift of Phantasms, or Gamble allows the deck to execute a deterministic table kill on Turn 4. When Glint-Horn attacks, activating its looting ability deals 1 damage to each opponent, causing Malcolm to produce 3 Treasure tokens and generating a net surplus of mana and fresh cards to loop infinitely in a single combat step. The deck is shielded by a dense suite of free and efficient counterspells, including Force of Will, Pact of Negation, Flare of Denial, and Flusterstorm. Redundant lines using Reckless Fireweaver with changeling spells and Underworld Breach storm lines ensure formidable speed, consistency, and resilience.
