Deck overview

Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm is the engine and finisher of a mono-black Rat swarm deck. The commander turns every attack into an anthem while milling and returning two Rats each turn, making the graveyard a core value engine. The deck builds wide with token producers like Lord Skitter, Piper of the Swarm, and Marrow-Gnawer, then wins through one massive combat step, often with Karumonix turning the swarm into lethal poison. Backup lords (Coat of Arms, Door of Destinies) and mass recursion (Patriarch's Bidding, Revenge of the Rats) provide a second path after board wipes. There is no hidden commander; Marrow-Gnawer and Karumonix are support legends. The plan is straightforward creature beatdown with strong synergy but little stack interaction.
