Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis spellslinger midrange list helmed by Saruman, the White Hand. The primary strategy focuses on deploying rapid artifact mana to resolve Saruman early, then cascading through noncreature spells to amass a massive Orc Army token equipped with natural Ward {2}. The deck supplements its single-threat combat clock with wide token generation from Lord of the Nazgûl, incidental burn via Fiery Inscription and Guttersnipe, and evasion tools like The Black Gate and Orcish Siegemaster. While it eschews infinite combo loops, it leverages format-ceiling acceleration, top-tier universal tutors, and premier zero-mana interaction like Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, and Force of Will to protect its board and disrupt opponents. Card draw engines including The One Ring, Rhystic Study, and Mystic Remora ensure consistent resource replenishment as the deck grinds down the table by Turn 8.
