the reaper king no more and his gnarly fingers by theblackstar

Format: Commander

Commander: The Reaper, King No More

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Reaper, King No More builds a -1/-1 counter engine: wither creatures, en masse counter placement, and theft effects convert opposing dying creatures into your board. Primary plan is attrition-and-command: wear down the table with -1/-1 counters and steal the best creatures, then finish through an overwhelming board, Garruk's emblem, or Evereth's death trigger. Secondary paths include the Hapatra + Blowfly Infestation loop for infinite deathtouch Snakes, and a Kulrath Knight + Everlasting Torment soft lock. The commander is a repeatable one-per-turn thief and initial counter source, but the deck is not built around either face-there is no hidden commander. Without the commander, Necroskitter and other engines keep the plan functional.
