Deck overview

This deck is a mono-blue Merfolk spellslinger and tempo list commanded by Namor, the Sub-Mariner. Namor bridges creature combat and spellcasting by creating 1/1 Merfolk tokens whenever you cast blue noncreature spells, simultaneously growing his own power. The deck develops smoothly by deploying cost reducers and lords, casting Namor on Turn 3, and converting every counterspell, cantrip, and removal spell into board presence starting on Turn 4. Evasion enablers like Lord of Atlantis, Master of the Pearl Trident, and Harbinger of the Seas turn opposing lands into Islands, granting unblockable attacks across the table. Stax elements like Back to Basics and Winter Moon exploit the all-basic Island mana base to paralyze multi-color opponents without slowing your own clock. Supported by a dense suite of low-cost interaction, the deck protects its board, controls the stack, and eliminates the table through overwhelming combat damage by Turn 7.
