Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Dimir graveyard-voltron strategy centered on Lazav, the Multifarious. By casting Lazav on turn 2 and rapidly stocking the graveyard with specialized creatures via Buried Alive, self-mill, and transmute tutors, the deck transforms its commander into an elusive, lethal threat. In combat, Lazav navigates blockers as an unblockable Invisible Stalker, gains infect from Vector Asp, and morphs into The Ancient One or Phage the Untouchable right before damage to eliminate opponents in rapid succession. Because Lazav transforms at instant speed, it natively protects itself against removal by morphing into hexproof or indestructible bodies like Vashta Nerada. While the deck features efficient early assembly on turn 4 and high inherent resilience, its single-target combat clock requires 3 opponent response cycles to finish the table, leaving a clear window for opponents to interact with its graveyard.
