Deck overview

This deck utilizes Codie, Vociferous Codex as a 5-color enabler for a dedicated Reanimator strategy. Because Codie forbids casting permanent spells, the deck bypasses hardcasting large threats by using typecycling creatures like Troll of Khazad-dûm, Generous Ent, and Oliphaunt to simultaneously fix mana and seed the graveyard. Looting spells such as Faithless Looting, Faithful Mending, and Buried Alive quickly load the graveyard with formidable bombs including Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Terastodon, Velomachus Lorehold, and Novablast Wurm. On Turns 4–5, the deck casts high-impact instant and sorcery reanimation spells like Bond of Revival, Torrent of Souls, and Unburial Rites—often cascaded into via Codie's mana ability—to cheat monsters into play with haste. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents through lethal combat damage across two to three combat steps, supported by flashback recursion and encore finishers.
