Deck overview

This deck is a thematic Grixis midrange control build centered on the iconic Elder Dragon Nicol Bolas and classic Legends lore. It combines multiple planeswalker incarnations of Bolas with vintage creatures such as Barktooth Warbeard, Lady Orca, and Boris Devilboon. The strategy aims to survive the early game with spot removal like Terminate and Crosis's Charm before ramping into massive high-end threats like Prince of Thralls, Blood Tyrant, and Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh. Win conditions revolve around grinding down opposing resources through targeted discard and edicts, eventually finishing players through flying combat damage and crushing spells like Cruel Ultimatum. Because the deck foregoes modern fast mana and low-cost countermagic in favor of thematic flavor, it operates at a deliberate, high-mana pace.
