Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mono-Black Lifegain and Combo strategy commanded by Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. The core plan converts life gain directly into opponent life loss, culminating in an infinite damage loop between Vito and Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. Early turns establish board presence and mana acceleration using cards like Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, and cheap lifelink creatures. Midgame turns use black tutors like Diabolic Tutor and Dark Petition to find the missing combo half, while board wipes like Toxic Deluge and attrition pieces like Dictate of Erebos keep opposing boards clear. The deck features built-in redundancy with backup drain enchantments such as Sanguine Bond and Enduring Tenacity, ensuring a viable path to victory even if Vito is removed. While vulnerable to early creature removal and lacking enchantment interaction, the deck reliably threatens an instant table kill on Turn 5.
