Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a classic Elf tribal swarm and life-drain engine led by Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary game plan focuses on rapid early-game acceleration using high-density 1- and 2-mana mana dorks like Llanowar Elves, Priest of Titania, and Elvish Archdruid. Lathril enters on Turn 3 or 4, using her menace keyword and combat damage triggers to generate a wide army of Elf tokens. Once the Elf count reaches 10, Lathril transitions into an unblockable reach engine, tapping the team to drain 10 life from every opponent each turn. Supporting tribal payoffs such as Shaman of the Pack, Skemfar Shadowsage, and Overrun provide redundant direct-damage and combat burst vectors. While the deck boasts explosive mana acceleration and strong graveyard recursion, its reliance on a wide creature board makes it inherently vulnerable to sweepers and heavy interaction.
