Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Faerie tempo strategy led by Alela, Cunning Conqueror. The core game plan focuses on operating entirely at instant speed, passing the turn with mana open to cast disruption, draw spells, or flash threats during opponent turns. Each first cast on an opponent's turn rewards you with a 1/1 flying Faerie Rogue token. Once established, these evasive flyers chip away at life totals and trigger Alela's combat damage ability to goad threatening opposing creatures, inciting table infighting. Card advantage engines like Wavebreak Hippocamp, Talion, the Kindly Lord, and Reconnaissance Mission keep hands full of counterspells and protective spells. The deck closes games by deploying mass pumps like Shadow Puppeteers or Glen Elendra Liege, converting small evasive tokens into lethal aerial damage.
